SIG SAUER: Awards for the P365 and the MCX Rattler

02/12/2019By Redaktion

The micro-compact P365 pistol (seen in the header) as well as the extremely short version of the MCX, the MCX Rattler, have won the prestigious Editor's Choice Awards 2018 from the well-known US firearms magazine ON TARGET. This continues the triumph of the P365, as the pistol already emerged victorious at the 2018 Golden Bullseye Awards.

The editors of ON TARGET describe the P365 as "in a class of its own" and emphasize that they "cannot imagine a better pistol for carrying." The hammer-fired pistol is consciously designed as a micro-compact pistol for concealed carry. It is also excellent for hunting: despite its compact size, the P365 offers a magazine capacity of 10+1 rounds in the proven 9mm Luger caliber. Extended magazines with 12 rounds are available as an option. These and other features such as the extremely light weight of just under 500g make the P365 the top choice for point-blank shooting situations.

SIG SAUER CEO Tim Castagne also emphasizes that "the P365 has gained a large following in Europe" and adds, "There is no more comfortable short firearm alternative than the P365, especially for hunting protection and point-blank shooting."

Exceptional Precision

The editors particularly praise the MCX Rattler for its exceptional precision despite its compact size: when the stock is folded, the weapon measures just under 40cm. The ultra-compact version of the SIG SAUER MCX is specially developed for the needs of special forces and is not available in this form in Europe.

The MCX is available as a version for demanding sports shooters with a barrel length of 16.6" and as a variant for hunting with an 11.5" barrel length in Europe since 2018.

The MCX is characterized mainly by the absence of a buffer tube: this makes the weapon more compact, flexible, and comfortable in recoil.
