SHOT SHOW 24: The new CZ 600 MDT

Czech Weapons Factory (CZ) presents the new CZ 600 MDT line: optimized for Precision Rifle Series Production Division competitions.

The CZ 600 family is expanding with the new models of the CZ 600 MDT line, available in .308 Winchester or 6mm Creedmoor versions. The systems with long barrels are housed in MDT stocks, with the overall configuration optimized for Precision Rifle Series Production Division competition. The CZ 600 MDT is offered in two versions: GREY and DEEP BRONZE.

The Barrel

The thick-walled 24-inch barrel (610 mm) is manufactured using cold forging. At the end, there is an M18x1 external thread, which is equipped with a nut for the GREY model and a triple-chamber compensator for the DEEP BRONZE model. The rifling depends on the cartridge version - 4 grooves with a twist of 1/10 inch (254 mm) for the .308 Winchester model and 6 grooves with a twist of 1/7 inch (177 mm) for the 6mm Creedmoor version.

The Action

The steel action chamber features an enlarged ejection window. Instead of a safety behind the action, a double-sided wing safety is used, inherited from the BREN 2 rifle.

The model uses a Size II action (medium - the size of the action depends on the cartridge used, specifically its length). The rifle is fed from a detachable 10-round box magazine following the AICS standard. Like its siblings, the single-stage trigger mechanism is adjustable from 6-13.5N thanks to a screw in front of the trigger blade.

The Stock

The aluminum alloy stock is made by MDT. Its long bedding features an M-LOK mounting system and a continuous Arca Swiss rail on the bottom.

Below the cooling window are two holes (also on the left side) used for attaching additional accessories, such as cartridge holders. Directly below the attachment openings is a support (locking stop) whose front is near the magazine well. The magazines are released via a lever accessible from both sides. The trigger is protected by an integrated guard.

The stock is compatible with buttstocks and pistol grips designed for the AR-15.
