From STREAMLIGHT, there is now a new helmet light, the Sidewinder Stalk. It features multiple color LEDs, friend-or-foe identification (IFF), a strobe function, and a flexible stalk to aim the light at the desired spot.
The Sidewinder Stalk has multiple mounting options for helmets or MOLLE gear and is powered by various power sources including a single CR123A lithium, AA alkaline, or AA lithium battery. In high mode, the white LED with a CR123A battery provides 76 lumens; in low mode, the lamp offers a runtime of over 3 days.
The versatile lamp features a variable color LED housed in a head attached to the flexible stalk of the lamp. In addition to bright white light, tactical users can choose between red, blue, or green LEDs in three power modes for low light applications such as map reading and cockpit navigation, or use the lamp's IR emitter when using night vision goggles (NVG). An integrated IR-IFF signal allows the operator to covertly signal their position and movements on the ground.
