SHOT Show 2022: SIONYX sees in the night

SIONYX presented its night vision device OPSIN at the SHOT Show. It is a military/professional digital night vision device – meaning it does not work with tubes, but "makes the night bright" through features such as 90 fps, automatic exposure, internal recording, external power supply, external battery, Dovetail mount, power cable, and more. The price will be 2,499 euros for the complete kit and it is expected to hit the market in July 2022. And it allows you to see the night in color – unlike the green and white light intensifiers.

We hope to make videos of it in the future. The basic data sound promising, but from what you read, there is still a slight lag when it comes to movements. This has been the biggest drawback of the Syonix AURORA camera and why it is only partially useful as a night vision device.

With OPSIN, this delay is supposed to be very, very minimal and much better than with AURORA. Overall, a very exciting device that we are looking forward to testing. The OPSIN with a total package price of 2,499 is a relatively affordable price for a professional, helmet-mounted night vision device.
