Modern Day Marine (MDM) is the largest trade show of the Marine Corps, where defense companies from around the world gather in Quantico, Virginia, annually to showcase their latest technologies, equipment, and services to offer to the US Marines. Guns, silencers, clothing, and much more - everything the Marine Corps needs is displayed at MDM. This year, it took place from September 25-27. Here, we'll provide a brief overview of some interesting exhibits that were featured this year.
Let's start with the extremely lightweight version of the 260-TI silencer from SureFire. With the use of titanium, the SOCOM variant is a substantial 40 percent lighter than the standard version.
WL Gore & Associates - mainly known for their ePTFE membranes used in Gore-Tex products - presented a lightweight reversible jacket at MDM 18, which aims to replace fleece jackets. Due to the special material mix, it is both warm and windproof, more space-saving than fleece jackets, and less susceptible to bacterial and other microorganism formation.
High Speed Gear presented a new Kydex handcuff pouch at the show. The holster is extremely rugged, resistant to sweat and various solutions, and prevents any damage to the handcuffs. You can buy the pieces for $35 HERE and HERE.
Arbor Arms made their first appearance at MDM this year. The small company, run by veterans, introduced their Tradesmen Segmented Adaptive Lasercut Trio (SALT) Belt System. It consists of a three-part belt system.
This includes a base belt worn on the pants, a core belt that serves as a carrier for the MOLLE cover and attaches through velcro to the base belt, and the MOLLE cover.
You can buy the harness system for $89.99 HERE.
Finally, we have the so-called Wizard Wall. This practical whiteboard replacement is not only interesting for tactical use, but will certainly also find a place in civilian settings. With Wizard Wall, you won't have to worry about mounting options like boards, clips, or magnets anymore. It adheres to various surfaces solely through static charge. Get your Wizard Wall HERE.
