Necessity is known to be the mother of invention. The new threat in the form of Kamikaze drones is making everyone creative, including the Russian armed forces. They have now developed a buggy that can fend off the small FPV drones, as reported by TASS.
Members of an air defense battalion of the Russian combat group South have constructed a buggy vehicle named ZVeraBoi to combat enemy drones as part of a military special operation in Ukraine.
In the front part of the vehicle, there is a turret with two mounted PKT machine guns, between which an improvised six-barreled shotgun is mounted. A thermal imaging device is mounted on the front turret. The control of the turret and firing operations are done automatically from the co-driver's seat.
The rear turret, which can rotate 360 degrees, is equipped with six coaxial AK-12 assault rifles that can fire simultaneously. Additionally, there are six launchers installed that use wax-glued 7.62mm projectiles instead of grenades. A very special type of ammunition. In the image, these are being fired.
The buggy is currently in the final testing phase and will soon be sent to the front lines. We are curious to see if this Mad Max vehicle will prove its worth.
