On March 17, RUAG Defence France and the Lithuanian Armed Forces signed a major contract following an international tender process for the delivery of indoor simulators for small arms (SATIS). SATIS is a true-to-life simulator for indoor shooting training at individual and unit levels. It is an evolution of SITTAL, which is used by the French Armed Forces in more than 50 garrisons across the country and by the Ivorian Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies. Lithuania has opted for the mobile version, allowing for quick and easy deployment from garrison to garrison.
SATIS supports a variety of weapons without the need for an air hose and helps individuals improve their accuracy, handling, and shooting procedure. Instructors can monitor and analyze all relevant data, including shot position, aiming, elevation, throw and tilt, as well as shots and trigger pressure. SATIS provides automatic after-action review (AAR) to assess efficiency, accuracy, dispersion, reaction time, and more.
The Lithuanian Armed Forces will also use SATIS to strengthen their decision-making and coordination skills by conducting exercises with groups of up to ten soldiers. SATIS supports customizable combat scenarios controlled by artificial intelligence (AI) and offers a variety of virtual 3D battlefields, such as city, countryside, or desert.
