REVIEW: ZENTAURON Micro Battle Chest Rig Set & Extended

03/12/2024By Redaktion

Size doesn't matter? Who came up with this nonsense again… Of course, size matters: sometimes small can be good and sometimes big, and it's fine to have both. Well, personally, it may seem difficult. The ZENTAURON Micro Battle Chest Rig Set makes it possible, available in Standard & Extended.

Here we see the Standard in its individual parts. Micro Rigs have been very popular recently. And for good reason: take what you need, is the motto. And as small as necessary.

Especially for people who are more often on the road by car, the Micro is worthwhile. It is also practical on the range. Take with you the gear you need. Every unnecessary gram is too much. With the ZENTAURON Micro Battle Chest Rig already being a big one among the small ones. Above, we have demonstratively loaded it: if you want, you can also fit simply six assault rifle magazines. That's already enough for the operation.

One must always be flexible, they say, and the ZENTAURON Micro Battle Chest Rig is very exemplary in that regard. It is essentially a Belly-platoon, into which you can attach the magazine pouches using Velcro. Here we see options from ZENTAURON: attachable quick-draw pouches for M4 and P8 magazines. ZENTAURON offers the whole range for this model: G28 and MP7 models are also available. And AUG shooters will also be happy with the M4. HERE you can find the whole range of practical attachable pouches.

Also from the same manufacturer: a pragmatic pistol holster that allows you to carry the handgun in front of the chest.

This is how the ZENTAURON Micro Battle Chest Rig looks when it's alone on the road. It is a double belly platoon, which is a bit larger than other Micro Rigs, probably because it is designed for G36 magazines. With these two compartments and all the Velcro inside, the wearer can do a lot because they can customize it as they wish.

And then it's time to play and have fun with Velcro. It's funny that you can configure as you like. It's not so fun that there is Velcro everywhere, which sticks immediately when they come too close. Tip: a sheet of paper or cardboard is a smart tool when you want to position the pockets. It prevents the Velcro from sticking, and when the position is right, simply remove it and everything fits. (If you prefer not to use it while mounting: you can swear loudly in your own four walls as much as you want.)

Is the ZENTAURON Micro Battle Chest Rig completely waterproof, we are often asked. Well, it definitely has two drainage eyelets at the bottom so that nothing stays inside.

The shoulder straps turn the belly plate into a chest rig. They are clipped in at the top corners on the right and left.

And then again on the sides, right and left.

The waist belt attaches at the bottom of the belly plate, on the right and left.

The clips can be opened and reattached accordingly, which is especially great when you want to go for the extended option.

Here the good pieces are looked at in detail again. The fasteners hold up extremely well and do exactly what they are supposed to.

The chest rig is ready: there is also a big velcro area on the front, which we immediately used for our patch.

A little tip from us: it's practical to have a velcro-attachable zip, because then you can carry magazines in the back compartment, but keep a closed compartment in the front. This is where your Snickers and Mars bars can go.

From ZENTAURON there is a great video about the Micro that explains it when worn.

But as with any house building, there comes a time when you need more space, which is why the Extended Version is available.

The Micro on the belly side has a covered velcro area.

The thick MOLLE bar fits perfectly on the right and left, so you can easily add on.

And then, at the bottom, there's the waist pouch, which can be attached to the small Micro unit alone. It's a super practical extension, because now there's simply additional storage space.

Velcro is so clingy that it just holds everything together.

And now the clips are going to be mounted from the waist pouch to the extension, then it will fit securely on the person again.

Fully assembled!

This is the ZENTAURON Extended Video, showing how the small becomes big.

CONCLUSION: The ZENTAURON Micro Battle Chest Rig is a super practical chest rig solution for those who want to have everything they need, but nothing more. Ideal for use in a vehicle and in tight spaces. If you need more space spontaneously, you can easily improvise more with the Extended version.

The ZENTAURON Micro Battle Chest Rig SET Standard is available for 119 euros, the ZENTAURON Micro Battle Chest Rig SET Extended costs 135 euros. Both can be purchased directly from the manufacturer or from a good gear retailer that carries ZENTAURON. At ZENTAURON, you will also find all the Velcro pouches needed to fully equip the Micro unit.
