REVIEW: VICTORINOX Hunter Pro Alox

One can never have enough sharp things. But when you want to have a good knife, the choice is rather difficult. VICTORINOX is of course a quality manufacturer and also the maker of the pocket knife that is given as a first knife to boys. With the Hunter Pro Alox, the Swiss have a "big" pocket knife on offer, which we really like. We explain why.

This is how the knife comes: in a sturdy box.

And a beautiful lanyard is also included, making it easy to pull out the pocket knife.

We prefer it pure. Holding the knife in our hand gives a sense of the dimensions. Here are the stats:

The knife in its layers: the inner workings between two steel plates and behind them the two aluminum scales.

The Alox has a beautifully textured surface that makes it easy to grip. Here we also see the nicely curved pocket clip.

On one side, a classic VICTORINOX Swiss cross awaits. In our Hunter Pro Alox, the handle scales are in red, which we really like. There are also other colors and natural aluminum options.

Do good and talk about it: that's the blade. Advantage of having 98 sharp millimeters of blade length: no extra blade opener that would make it a one-handed knife. Particularly interesting for German citizens.

The serration on the blade comes in handy for fine work.

And with the thumb, you can apply good pressure behind it.

At the other end: a thick eyelet - just for the lanyard.

The advantage of a colored knife is obvious: on one hand, even if it is large like the Hunter Pro Alox, it does not look so militant. On the other hand, the colorful knife is easy to find on the forest floor because it is not camouflaged.

The blade is released through the locking mechanism on the back of the knife. Not the fastest method, but securely locked.

CONCLUSION: Best knife, great quality. For us, the knife that belongs to everyday carry, a working blade that is suitable for civilian and duty use. And the VICTORINOX Hunter Pro Alox is an extremely beautiful pocket knife as well.
