If you are going to fall from the sky, do it in the right color: Steel gray against sky blue looks great. And the functionality of the clothing must also be excellent. Shortly before our parachute jumping adventure with the Military Parachutist Troop School, we received a package from UF PRO. It contained the well-proven Striker XT Gen. 2 suit, but in the very latest UF PRO color "Steel Grey". So we took advantage of this opportunity and used UF PRO for our parachute jumping course.
UF PRO proves itself in tough urban operations. But as you can see, you can also just hang out with it. We think you always make a good impression with UF PRO. Steel Grey can be seen here in contrast to Olive during hanging training before the jump. The difference is very clear. Generally, Steel Grey is very neutrally designed. Especially for special forces and civilian representatives of the Grey Man, it is a welcome alternative to black, tan, and olive variants. Otherwise, it is of course optimal for any operations in urban areas. UF PRO is also adapting its own color catalog. The previous Frost Grey - HERE the XT Gen II in the SPARTANAT Review - disappears in favor of the more practical Steel Grey, which is significantly darker.
Regarding shades: 50 Shades of Grey - a comparison is always worth it. On the left, UF PRO in Steel Grey. Top right Arc'teryx in "Wolf Grey" (Atom LT Gen2 New). Bottom right "Shadow Grey" by Helikon Tex (Wolfhound Jacket). Arc'teryx and UF PRO now differ only minimally, allowing for rewarding combinations. However, "Shadow Grey" by Helikon Tex is a shade darker.
The Uniform Striker XT Gen. 2 frontally. The shirt fits comfortably. The shoulders are padded with the integrated AirPacs. This also increases the comfort of wearing plate carriers, backpacks, or in our case, parachutes.
When the collar is closed, there is a garage for the zipper. Additionally, the chin is protected.
Cuffs are closed with Velcro. When opened, the sleeve is wide enough to be easily rolled up.
There is also a pocket on each sleeve, with MOLLE attached to mount a map pocket, for example.
On each side, there is an upper arm pocket with Velcro on the outside. It can be opened with a zipper. In addition, there is a small flap on the top that can be held with teeth, making it easier to open the pocket.
On the back, there is a ventilation slot, which can also be opened with a zipper.
Under the arms, there is generous mesh for better working conditions. Those who have to sweat properly on duty are grateful for any breeze.
Getting ready for the jump: HERE is our report from the MFTS parachuting course.
