REVIEW: UF PRO Striker Gen. 2 Boonie

There the two Boonies lie in their natural habitat, the forest. On the left, the new Striker Gen.2, so to speak, the evolution of the right one. At first glance, there are hardly any differences, but the devil is in the details as always, find out with us what they are.Here are the two hats from a bird's eye view. The brim has become about 1 cm wider. The Velcro area was also present in the predecessor, but we once cut it off due to non-use. The dark area on the front stands out especially.

This is probably the best innovation for a Boonie, ventilation through mesh fabric. A very fine mesh was used here so that no insects or dirt get to the head.

The back also features the mentioned mesh fabric. This ensures good ventilation and circulation, keeping your head cooler in the summer. The ventilation works really well, but in the blazing sun at 35°C in the shade, you shouldn't expect miracles. It will still get hot under the hat.

The interior is now also made with mesh fabric. The head compartment, as found in the predecessor, has been retained. The sweatband is also made of mesh.

But the best innovation is a flexible wire on the front and back of the brim. This is already known from various hoods and is equally practical.

Thanks to the wire, the angle of the brim can always be perfectly adjusted. Whether pulled down low over the face or as a tricorn hat, your imagination knows no bounds.

CONCLUSION: If you liked the first generation of Boonies, you will love the improved second generation. With well-thought-out and practical improvements, the Striker Boonie is even more comfortable to wear, especially in hot weather.
