Zipper at the back is modern. In the JPC 2.0 - we just had it in the review - it comes as standard. But there is no reason for people who have a regular JPC or other carrier to be sad. Today we present to you the Assaulter Zip On Platform from Toy Soldier (which is actually originally from Tyr Tactical) and it has the Zip integrated.
The magic of the material is this: you have a zipper, you can remove the load on your back with a few simple steps.
It's not just the Zip alone, there are two loops at the top center that serve as a safety feature and secure the panel on the back.
The practical thing about this solution are these two strips. They come with the Toy Soldier Platform and are simply looped in with MOLLE on the carrier, expanding the possibility of quickly attaching the platform. TS has only replicated one version, Tyr has completely different ones - from a simple bladder with MOLLE to a beavertail backpack.
The platform is on the one hand a hydration pack, velcroed on top, here with straps for attaching a 50 OZ hydration bladder.
And it has two compartments, with three elastic loops inside the top one, here you can fit about three smoke grenades, at the bottom (picture) with a mesh compartment. Here you can fit approximately an MRE. Or a jacket and snack.
CONCLUSION: Rear extensions for the plate carrier have been all the rage lately. This is a super practical platform that carries a hydration bladder and essentials. If it gets too heavy, you can quickly unzip it. There is also a bit of space on MOLLE for small items - like an antenna or a flare in the pouch. Toy Soldier is slightly cheaper than the original Tyr, but doesn't lag behind in quality.
The Toy Soldier Assaulter Zip On Platform is available in Coyote for $69.50, in Multicam for $99.50, and in AOR1 for $129.50.
