Are there secret tips? Sometimes some people pretend there are, because that's supposed to make everyone curious. Well, that's not the case with us. This jacket is a real insider tip for us. And let's be clear, if we were to award a title like "Jacket of the Year," this would be it. The Noshaq belongs to the Military Gear line of the Czech manufacturer Tilak. It is available through the Marines Shop.
But let's start from the top: We like it when a manufacturer doesn't hold back. With the Noshaq, this starts with the head, with a sophisticated hood construction that actually works. The good piece covers, but can also be pulled tighter so that the wearer can turn their head and keep their field of vision.
Frontal view. The cap under the hood works great, there is no outstanding brim. If you like that, take a brimmed cap. The view of the neck area reveals: you can close up well here. Also visible are the adjustment options, with which everything can be adapted so that no cold wind creeps into the neck, but the hood also fits snugly.
When the integrated hood is not needed, it neatly disappears into the collar.
Here too, it results in a clean solution that is discreetly stowed away. Even for those who seldom use integrated hoods, this is not a nuisance. It is unobtrusive, but always with you in case it is needed.
Rear view. Solid but unspectacular. What is positively noticeable about the Noshaq, however, is the length. It goes "over the butt" and that ensures that you can bend over without getting a cold draft in your back.
But they say that inner values always count. View of the laid-out jacket. You can clearly see the pockets and the absence of additional lining. At the same time, everything is wonderfully crafted with great attention to detail.
The hem at the bottom also acts as the cable tunnel for adjusting the tightness at the lower end. The jacket is not fitted, you cannot tighten it above the hip. The lack of lining is not a mistake: wear a fleece jacket underneath and you will still get through the cold season.
The Noshaq also repels water, but only up to a certain limit, which is soon exceeded. In general, remember: a softshell is never a rain jacket.
Front view of the entire jacket: very classic in design, but also intriguing with its chest and belly pockets.
In the collar area, it is also nicely padded, not scratchy, but cuddly when you tighten it around your neck.
All YKK closures have zipper pulls made of matching cord. Easy to grab. The jacket is available in three colors: Green, Khaki, and Black.
The deep chest pocket also has an integrated loop to attach something. Otherwise, it is good storage space while you can warm your hands an 'floor' lower.
On the sleeves, there are upper arm pockets and, of course, the necessary Velcro for your patches. The Tilak logo is embroidered here.
The stress areas for softshells are on the sleeves. The Noshaq has reinforced them so that nothing happens to the jacket itself when you have to work over the sleeves.
