A polo shirt is not just for playing golf or for casual Fridays. We would like to introduce you to the Elite Pro Polo Shirt from Texar in this SPARTANAT review. Once put on and from the front. We like the Coyote color. The shirt is size Large, as it was actually intended for a colleague. The model in the picture usually wears Small. It could therefore fit a little better and also shows that you can comfortably choose a size larger, thanks to Texar's "Slim Fit."
The back. As you can see, it is light due to the 50/50 cotton and polyester blend. The blend ensures quick sweat absorption on one hand and is said to be quickly released back to the outside. The polo shirt is the embodied attempt to unite both worlds.
Vented mesh fabric is used in the underarm area. We find this to be a good idea, as this is where most sweating occurs, and the area with special ventilation is not small.
There are pockets sewn on both sleeves that can be closed with a zip. The size is good and fits a block inside - or the hand here as a reference. The patch area is long, but could be a bit wider. A flag patch is slightly too big, but it still holds.
It is also practical that the Velcro area offers three slots for pens, for example. The slots are open at the bottom.
The sleeve ends are snug due to the stretch fabric. But no matter how much you've pumped, the fabric gives way nicely, allowing even slightly wider arms to pass through.
There is no tag scratching on the inside. The information is printed on the fabric. You can also see the nice flat seams that hold the shirt together. They don't scratch or create uncomfortable pressure points.
There is also a spare button stitched at the shirt end.
CONCLUSION: A shirt does what it is supposed to do. Pockets with Velcro and pen holders are practical, the fabric feels comfortable, but when wet, it becomes heavy as expected from cotton. Cotton, in general, makes it heavier than a comparable piece of polyester, but you're not just wearing a plastic bag. However, the mix also ensures faster drying in practice. A nice compromise that makes the climate more tolerable on the shooting range. However, the Slim Cut is a bit too slim in terms of sizing. Overall, a useful tactical polo at a great price.
You can find the shirt HERE on BLACKFROG for a modest 23 euros. Available in classic colors such as Black, Gray, Olive, and Coyote.
