Hello, how are you doing today?
Order is half of life, as the saying goes. This organization becomes even more important when it comes to life itself. This ranges from the correct arrangement of magazine pockets to the quickly accessible first aid kit. Because the right tools should be readily available and time-saving, for doctors as well as operators. Tasmanian Tiger hits this point exactly with their range of bags. Today, we are taking a look at their Tasmanian Tiger Rescue Pouch MKII. On the front, the Rescue Pouch has both a Velcro area with writable Velcro strips, as well as a practical transparent flap for content lists, important medication dosages, or algorithms.
On the side, next to the zipper, there is a replaceable green grip loop. Both a red and a blue one are included. In the last image of the review, you can see blue: so the content of the bag can be identified and pulled by color.
The back is entirely covered in hook-and-loop, making it ideal to be attached directly to a bag or backpack by simply attaching the opposite strip. If this is not desired, the user can simply leave the mesh on. This way, the user is free to decide how they want to use the bag. This is how user-friendliness works. When the medic opens the padded bag immediately, the back of the cover is equipped with two insert pockets and sewn MOLLE straps made of elastic band. These are naturally more suitable for flatter equipment items.
Next to them is a zippered pocket with a transparent vinyl front, which is ideal for those things that may not fit or be placed in the loops, but it is essential to see where they are.
On the back of it, you can see the elastic loops, which are ideal for storing venous cannulas, alcohol swabs, disposable gloves, etc.
Next is a padded panel that serves as an ampullarium. Due to the different widths of the seams, differently dosed medications can be stored accordingly (from Esketamine 5ml / 10ml, to L-Adrenaline 20ml).
To store smaller ampoules, the medic simply turns the panel, and there is plenty of space.
Finally, there are two more insert pockets, one small with a window, and a larger one, ideal for storing a 500ml infusion. Although the Rescue Pouch is more suitable for infusion bags, it can also accommodate plastic bottles if needed.
Both the ampullarium and the first panel can easily be detached. This allows the user to rotate, exchange, or simply remove them. This way, the bag can be customized according to the user's needs and competencies for use in emergencies.
Sometimes one bag alone doesn't do the job. The Recue Pouch MKII works here as a team with an entire medic backpack and integrates perfectly.
CONCLUSION: Tasmanian Tiger has produced with the Rescue Pouch MKII an absolutely user-friendly and highly adaptable bag, which is particularly suitable for extended medication administration. Everything is padded and has its place, providing the medical professional with everything needed for parenteral administration.
You can buy the Rescue Pouch MKII directly from TT or from all companies that carry Tasmanian Tiger products. It costs 38 Euros.
