REVIEW: TASMANIAN TIGER Plate Carrier LP MKII

04/04/2023By Redaktion

Slick means smooth and smooth is awesome. - This wisdom proves true with the TASMANIAN TIGER Plate Carrier LP MKII. LP does not mean "Long Playing Record", but "Low Profile". The plate carrier is designed for covert wearing.

This is the good piece from the front. "Slick" means no MOLLE strips. It is not intended to attach pouches here.

Here are the stats for the LP MKII:

  • Length-adjustable, elastic side attachment
  • Very flat construction
  • Two additional, detachable, elastic side pockets
  • Shoulder straps adjustable from min. 26 cm to max. 36 cm
  • Suitable for SAPI plates. Size S/M up to 30 x 25 cm, size L up to 33 x 26 cm
  • Neutral appearance / front side

Here are the adjustable shoulders. The covering is a fabric tube, which can be padded for more comfort, especially with heavy loads. On the other hand, no additional equipment is intended to be carried, just two plates on the person. That's not too heavy.

The stomach is closed with classic Velcro. Essentially, everything on the carrier is stretchy.

Pull tabs on the front Velcro surface of the cummerbund.

Side view of the cummerbund. It stretches, as expected, making it very comfortable to wear.

And there are two integrated compartments. Radios, magazines, ballistic side armor - whatever you want.

The backside is even smoother than the front. You can see how nicely the plate bag is stretched over the ballistic plate.

Inside, everything is designed with mesh for better ventilation.

The TT LP MKII in hand: a compact powerhouse that does what it's supposed to do. Here's the manufacturer's video, explaining what needs to be explained:

CONCLUSION: The perfect underlayer carrier, but also versatile enough to be worn with a micro-rig.

You can find the TASMANIAN TIGER Plate Carrier LP MKII wherever TT is carried. It costs a friendly 85 Euros.
