REVIEW: Tasmanian Tiger Multicaliber Magazine Pouches + Dump Pouch

I'm sorry, I can't do that. How about I summarize the content instead?

Plate carriers and belts need to be equipped with pockets. A good and affordable option for pistol and rifle magazine pouches comes from Tasmanian Tiger: Check it out.

Let's start with the TT SGL PI Mag Pouch MCL. The name stands for Tasmanian Tiger Single Pistol Magazine Pouch Multicaliber – a magazine pouch for a pistol magazine, regardless of caliber.

Made of 700d Cordura with elastic bands for tension resistance, the pouch holds most double-stack pistol magazines. Each pouch comes with a hook and loop inset that tightens the pouch even further.

This may also fit single-stack magazines.

The pouch is attached with MOLLE, the back is laser-cut and has a stiffened threader.

Thanks to the open design and tension resistance, magazines can be easily removed and reinserted. Weighing just 25 grams and with a slim design, the pouch can be easily integrated into any MOLLE system with a row of MOLLE slots.

Next up is the TT SGL MAG Pouch MCL - say it slowly: Tasmanian Tiger Single Magazine Pouch Multicaliber, this time for rifle magazines.

The design is reminiscent of the HSGI Taco, but with laser-cut MOLLE loops. Tension resistance or the width of the pouch is adjusted by elastic bands that can be regulated at the bottom with a cord stopper. The cord stopper is sewn with a loop on the back.

The pouch is attached the same way as the pistol magazine pouch: Laser-cut MOLLE with threaders.

Magazines are additionally braked on the inside by rubberized inserts on the back.

We tested common AR15 magazines, AK magazines, G36 magazines, and .308 magazines (not shown in the pictures). Except for the G36 magazine with a coupling, all magazines fit perfectly in the pouch and can be easily removed and reinserted.

The multi-magazine pouch requires two rows of MOLLE and weighs 65 grams.

Finally, you need a pouch that can hold empty or half-full magazines, known as a Dump Pouch.

Tasmanian Tiger offers three Dump Pouches in their lineup, here you can see the TT Dump Pouch Light - the ultra-light version. We are familiar with the design from Blue Force Gear, but the Tasmanian Tiger model is more affordable, albeit without Helium Whisper.

The dump pouch is attached with MOLLE and snap buttons, not laser-cut. This brings the pouch to 60 grams and a width of just over two rows of MOLLE slots at 10x10cm.

The dump pouch is stored in the elastic sleeve, and the pouch is then pulled out with a long piece of webbing.

The light pouch does not have stiffening at the opening, allowing for more movement compared to regular dump pouches, and the bag's opening may not always be directly accessible.

There is plenty of space, as 4-6 rifle magazines can fit easily.
