REVIEW: TACWRK TaoTool S

10/14/2017By Redaktion

TACWRK has recently added the TaoTool S from NexTool to its range. With the TACWRK logo printed on it and in black, it attaches to the keychain and accompanies you throughout the day. It is primarily used for opening packages. Here you can see it in the closed state. Closed length is just under seven centimeters. Opened, it measures eleven centimeters. To open it, the blade is simply unfolded. It then secures itself before folding back with a rocker lock. To fold it back, press on the back and the blade will lower. Here is the TaoTool from the top with the blade open. You can see that only the front is coated. The blade is made of Sandvik 12c27 blade steel, which is coated with Teflon. The Teflon prevents adhesives from sticking to the blade, which is common with various package tapes. This is what it looks like in action. It hooks in and is simply pulled through. It's quick, easy, and you don't have to worry about damaging the contents. Whether it's cardboard, paper, tape, or paracord - it cuts! One small drawback is the edge on the rocker lock. It could be a little more rounded for more comfortable operation. Although the advantage of the sharp edge is that it can be wonderfully used for a fire striker. So it could also be seen as a feature. Finally, here is the keychain it is attached to and used almost daily. The size and thickness do not bother when worn daily.

CONCLUSION: A practical EDC tool for those who open a lot of packages. We wouldn't want to be without it and are thrilled. The advantage over a knife is clearly that you don't have to be as careful with it and the looks from colleagues are limited.

The TaoTool S is available in the limited TACWRK version for 14.90 euros directly HERE at TACWRK.
