REVIEW: TAB Gear SAS R Suppressor Cover

When it gets hot, you usually take off your clothes. But with a suppressor on the gun, it can be different: it gets a fashionable cover. We took a look at the TAB Gear SAS R Suppressor Cover for you.

This is a photo by Sage Dynamics. They photographed the end piece of a gun on the range. The Surefire Can is glowing, and you can also see the heat distribution nicely. The suppressor in the middle is the hottest. Its functions are to reduce noise and suppress the signature (muzzle flash).

TAB Gear produces several covers for suppressors. The SAS R is made of Cordura on the outside and Nomex and other fire-resistant materials on the inside. The result: this inconspicuous thing can withstand 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit (almost 1,000 degrees Celsius).

CONCLUSION: Why would you disguise something as beautiful as a suppressor? On one hand, heat waves above a glowing can can reveal a sniper's position, and on the other hand, the cover prevents severe burns if you touch the hot suppressor.
