Welcome to the SHOT SHOW 2020! We'll show you what you'll see presented next week in Las Vegas: S&S Precision has focused on the concept of Chest Rigs after revolutionizing the Plate Carrier with the PF-M - HERE is the review on SPARTANAT. The result is the Chest Rig Modular (CR-M). We show you the S&S Precision CR-M in detail.

This is what the CR-M looks like from the front. Laser-cut MOLLE/PALS cut in laminate. Nothing spectacular so far. The weight is interesting, as the CR-M weighs only 450 g empty, without the magazine pockets.

What really stands out is the back. Upon close inspection, you'll notice that the back strap is missing. Only a side strap and yet everything remains stable? Yes, because it's not a classic X-harness, the material is semi-rigid, and thus the weight distribution works differently than with traditional Chest Rigs.

Here's a picture of a regular H-Harness, so you know what we mean. The shoulder strap is shaped like an "H", with the straps going back under the arms to the rig. In the lower back is the back strap that stretches the front towards the body.

Fastex buckles connect the straps to the front plate. Plate is a fitting term, because the front is also reinforced. More on that later.

The shoulder straps are padded, which can also serve as a cable tunnel. MOLLE provides even more possibilities.

The webbing itself is made of laminate. The entire Chest Rig is made of laminate and other water-repellent materials. This prevents the gear from getting soaked and avoids the need to carry additional weight when it gets wet.

This is how the shoulder strap looks under the padding, skeletonized to save weight. This concept is a common theme throughout the design of the CR-M.

A clever feature, in our opinion, is the ability to directly attach a small Assault Pack to the CR-M, as you already know with Plate Carriers. Here we improvised something with a Flatpack.

You'll find two loops on the shoulder straps where you can attach split or repair buckles.

There are also two loops on each side, one for the back strap, the other for the backpack. A practical system, one could have thought of it earlier.

Now onto the inner workings. To ensure comfort during use, you'll find a Velcro-padded foam padding as found in the PlateFrame Modular- HERE in our review. We are looking forward to the first operational reports on how durable the material is.

The padding removed. This reveals the backside of the MOLLE pockets. The black, skeletonized structure is also semi-rigid and can be seen as the body of the CR-M. More or less laser-cut laminate is stretched over it.

Here the fine Velcro and frame structure are clearly visible. This is the same composite material used in the PlateFrame Modular. In the upper corner of the image, you can clearly see the gray checkered structure of the material.

Now also removing the padding from the Admin panel. The same sight. The Admin panel is also reinforced. The gray stems somehow look like hooks to us.
