Anyone who goes into the water should always have one thing with them, a diving knife. Those who deal with things in the water that could be explosive know that the knife must be non-magnetic (like the rest of the equipment) because mine detonators can work electromagnetically. The Romeo Two by Pohl Force was available at the special forces diving provider outer-limits. It is now sold out and was specifically made for users who may encounter such situations in the water. We took a look at the knife for you. The magic lies in the blade. It is 118 mm long, with a total length of the knife being 25 cm. The Romeo Two is Full Tang - and made of Titanium. This results in two desired properties: the knife is pleasantly corrosion-resistant, yet also non-magnetic. However, it may not be as durable as if it were made of genuine blade steel. At Pohl Force, it has been tested that the blade can bend up to 25 degrees before breaking. But in many cases, it will simply be ropes that need to be cut, which is why it has a double-sided serrated edge.
The rest of the Romeo Two fits very well and comfortably in the hand, with the patterning on the handle looking typical of Pohl Force.
The handle is made of GFK and is large enough to grip the knife securely even with diving gloves on.
Even on the backside, the knife proves to be a tool: hammering with Titanium is possible when something gets stuck underwater. A lanyard is also included.
The knife comes with a Kydex sheath and can be attached directly to MOLLE. Here, not on a tactical vest, but on a rebreather from Siel which has a MOLLE-compatible cover (we will introduce the device to you in the near future).
The knife on a person. Here are the technical data for the Romeo Two by Pohl Force:
CONCLUSION: A very compact and good diving knife with non-magnetic properties. Ideal for professionals who need exactly that.
The POHLFORCE Romeo Two is no longer in production, and was priced at 199 euros.
