REVIEW: Pohl Force Bravo 1 Gen1

11/23/2013By Redaktion

An all-class folding knife that is also legal in Germany? Impossible? No, it exists, namely the Pohl Force Bravo1. We have been using this small, fine knife for some time now and are presenting it today. (Click on images to enlarge)

The Bravo1 is essentially the smaller brother of the Alpha3 (review available HERE), as clearly seen in the image above. Due to its smaller size, it is perfect for everyday carry (EDC). The technical specifications are as follows:

  • Blade made of D2 (1.2379), approx. 58-59 HRC
  • 3 mm thick handle scales made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (45% glass fiber content).
  • 1 mm thick stainless steel plates
  • Total length 19.3 cm
  • Blade length 8.3 cm
  • Blade thickness 3.5 mm
  • Weight 100 g

pohlforce_b1_3The knife is very grippy due to the handle pattern. The size and comfortable shape make it fit well in the hand, even for slightly larger or smaller hands. The blade is securely and firmly locked by the back lock mechanism. We have been using the knife for about half a year and have not needed to sharpen it yet. But we haven't chopped down any trees with it either. No, we prefer to use the big brother for that. The pocket clip can be mounted on the left or right. Due to the deliberate absence of a blade lifter, this knife can be legally carried in Germany. A benefit that is valued beyond the borders.

CONCLUSION: Like everything from Pohl Force: simply a dream. Superb quality, craftsmanship, and design. We recommend this knife to anyone looking for a stylish, sturdy EDC knife.

Now available as GEN2 directly from Pohl Force for 145€ (excluding shipping).
