REVIEW: OTB Odhin Boots

09/15/2012By Redaktion

You're not quite right! - Normally one should not have to endure accusations like this. However, in this case it's not an accusation, but rather shoes that are really not supposed to be tight. The OTB Odhin should let water in and out. No wonder, as the company name hints at amphibious operations: OTB stands for "Over the Beach", meaning from the sea to the land (and back). SPARTANAT has taken a close look at the Odhins for you.

The shoe in its element: Here it submerges into the water and when you pour water in, it comes out on the body and through the sole.

View of the sole: all full of holes, which also go through the insole in the shoe.

This is what practical use looks like: Either as a normal, full-fledged boot that you can march in, or as a dive boot that fits perfectly into the fin. The workmanship quality is excellent. This pair here has over 200 dives under its belt.

CONCLUSION: The Odhins from OTB are the perfect boots for amphibious operations. Designed for operations across the beach, you take them when water is the element that determines the operation. At the same time, you can also march with them - even to get back into the water. Those who want to stay on land longer will notice the only disadvantage of the OTB Odhins: they take a long time to dry out due to the good cushioning of the shoe.

The OTB Odhins can be found in stores or on eBay for around $130. They are no longer in production. OTB also no longer exists. The company was taken over by New Balance, and the successor model to the Odhin on the market is the Abyss II. The OTB Odhins in the picture come from the specialist supplier Outer Limits.
