Let's be honest, it always depends on what you have in your pants. Concealed carry of pistols is a science of its own – accessible only to a very select, small group of people. Nevertheless, there are some products on the market for this group that can also make sense for normal (sport) shooters. One of these things is the NeoMag, a magnetic magazine holder for the pocket.
This is what it looks like when you carry a GLOCK magazine in your pocket with the NeoMag TypeG. Very inconspicuous and subtle. The clip makes it look more like a pocket knife.
The magazine is easy to pull out and just as quick to stow away again.
This is what the NeoMag TypeG pocket clip looks like. Two strong magnets ensure a secure hold for GLOCK magazines. The standard version of the NeoMags has only one magnet and is intended for metal magazines. However, this has insufficient holding force for GLOCK magazines, so: two strong magnets for GLOCK.
The magazine is held in place laterally by two metal wings. This prevents anything from slipping or falling out.
On the back, a sturdy titanium clip is screwed in place. It is really tight and holds on firmly to the pocket. The clip is available either brushed or coated in black Cerakote, as you can see in the background.
There are also two lengths. Normal on the left and extended on the right in the image. With the longer one, the magazine disappears completely in the pocket. In the photos above, we used the normal length clip.
Here is the clip in the middle of the magazine. When wearing it, the magazine will automatically slide down due to gravity.
If you think the magnets might be too weak, there is no need to worry. It is very difficult to pull the magazine away from the magnets at a right angle. Pulling it out parallel is easy, but lifting it off takes a lot of effort. In other words, your magazine will be securely held.
However, the NeoMag pocket clip only works with standard GLOCK magazines and similar products, i.e., those with steel sheet metal cores. With a PMAG magazine for GLOCKs, the ferromagnetic component is simply missing, and the magnet has nothing to hold on to. Maybe it works if you use ammunition with steel casings, but who wants to do that.
The product video from NeoMag also shows the function very well.
CONCLUSION: The NeoMag pants clip is a very functional and secure way to carry spare magazines for your pistol. Whether in covert operations or on the shooting range. It is also great for keeping multitools and other metallic items readily available in your pocket.
You can get the NeoMag pants clips starting at 45.50 EURO at CSC-Arms Division in a total of eight variants (Regular and for GLOCK, long or short clip, black or brushed).
