REVIEW: Mechanix All Leather Gauntlet

Mechanix are excellent gloves, but mostly made of plastic and synthetic materials. This prejudice holds true for almost all gloves that have appeared under this brand. The All Leather Gauntlet is the big exception and that results in an extremely good and sturdy glove that combines the design of Mechanix with the benefits of real goat leather. One big advantage is the durability: real leather is more durable than its imitation, especially when sewn with Kevlar threads as done here. Palms, thumbs, and knuckles are reinforced as typical of Mechanix gloves. A special feature of the Gauntlet is that it is larger than other classic Mechanix gloves. It does not stop at the wrist like its counterparts, but has a longer cuff that is securely closed with a leather strap, providing more protection. A carabiner can be attached to a loop at the end of the cuff to secure the Gauntlet to gear.

CONCLUSION: A durable full leather glove that is suitable for tasks from fast rappelling to fire-resistant missions, enduring more than the other members of the classic Mechanix line, while still showing its roots. It fits snugly and securely, is a durable performer that does not easily give up even with continuous use.
