REVIEW: Mayflower Tactical Back Panel

Chest Rig? No, Back Panel. And we know: a back can also be delightful. In response to the common question of how to carry more equipment, Mayflower RC/Velocity Systems (the companies now operate under the latter name) offers a complete back panel that fits all chest rigs from its own house. This is the delightful back. And this is the back panel in full glory. Noticeably wide. Space was not spared here...

...just in depth. The back panel can accommodate a SAPI plate, and with the help of a Front Plate Sleeve on the front, a second plate can be integrated into the chest rig, turning the combination into something like a high-quality plate carrier, but still as a chest rig.

Wide Ultracomp shoulder straps, a short flap to close the back panel, Velcro on the top for attaching patches. That's the way it should be.

So narrow yet so well-structured. Fits a SAPI plate, hydration bladder, and the assaulters bolt cutters.

It docks at the chest rig with clips at the front. The long straps, to accommodate many men, can be neatly secured, hiding nicely with the sliders.

The Ultracomp shoulder strap lies wide. Loops for antennas, MOLLE for cables, PTTs, and hydration tubes. Everything is organized as needed.

Clips-clips - and the back panel is in place.

CONCLUSION: This carries the necessary equipment for the assaulter. Broad on the man, but slim in depth so that one can move comfortably. A practical solution that enhances the chest rig into a complete system. For those who don't need it, simply switch back to the normal straps.

The Mayflower Tactical Back Panel is available at GEARMANIACS for 126.65 Euros.
