REVIEW: Marom Dolphin Fusion System 2 - The carrying system

08/11/2021By Redaktion
Recently, we explained the T-Belt of the MAROM DOLPHIN Fusion Systems in detail. Today we continue with the corresponding carrying system. Together with the backpack, it aims to make life easier for the infantryman, who always plays a supporting role on the battlefield. Get ready for some special but very well-thought-out solutions for the soldier that truly make life easier. The carrying system on the ground, without the T-Belt. What do we see? Shoulder straps, a lot of padding, a kind of backplate, and something that looks like the cummerbund of a plate carrier. And a big piece of hard plastic that stares at us uncomfortably. On the other side, the carrying frame of the MAROM DOLPHIN Fusion Systems reminds us clearly of a backplate for technical diving with wings that provide buoyancy. Especially noticeable here is the smoothness of the back view. No MOLLE and nothing unnecessary. Something really special can be seen at the bottom of the equipment back, the TPP - which stands for "Tactical Pivot Point." It is the interface to the previously introduced T-Belt. To ensure good movement, the TPP is designed to be flexible. Whether rotating or bending, you will never be negatively affected by the carrying frame. So, let's take a look at the carrying frame of the MAROM DOLPHIN Fusion Systems. This is done just like putting on a backpack, so simple. We already have the T-Belt on. The TPP just before the union. The docking point is at the lower back, yet it is easy and intuitive to find. The last zenith meters before it "clicks." The round thing already wants to go in... Found! It clicks. Once the carrying frame of the MAROM DOLPHIN Fusion Systems is connected to the T-Belt, you are ready. In the image, you can see the joints of the TPP in action.

The length adjustment is easy and precise to operate. The shoulder straps are thickly padded like those of a large backpack and are really comfortable to wear.

The buckle for width adjustment in detail. At first glance, it may seem that it was installed upside down, but that's exactly why it can be adjusted so extremely well. A really successful detail solution.

In the side profile, the observer can see that the carrying frame of the MAROM DOLPHIN Fusion Systems does not protrude much and sits close to the body. The plastic frame is also clearly visible. It will later hold the backpack.

The hydration bladders on the left and right are interconnected, totaling three liters. The TTP is clearly visible in the lower section. For those who are wondering, "Can the back part be adjusted in height?" Yes, it can.

You can see the small rows of holes on the left and right in the plastic, which are the notches for height adjustment because not all backs are the same length.

You just have to rotate the two small levers downward and you can start adjusting the length. Here is the minimum height in the image.

And here is the maximum height. There are a total of 17 positions available on the carrying frame of the MAROM DOLPHIN Fusion Systems. The total adjustment length is about 25 centimeters. Another very successful solution.

The hydration bladders on the right and left can be filled independently of each other. By the way, they are made by HydraPack.

All hoses are equipped with quick couplings and you can choose whether you prefer the drinking tube on the left or right.

Of course, the shoulder straps are equipped with corresponding cable and hose guides. Here you can also see the padding of the MAROM DOLPHIN Fusion System carrying frame. It is a special 3D spacer fabric and works flawlessly. What we generally notice about Israeli gear is how much emphasis is placed on good and comfortable padding. For someone who uses the equipment every day, this is a factor that should not be underestimated.

The hydration bladders are threaded to the left and right of the main part of the carrying frame, the large plastic frame. You can also remove them if you don't need them.

The plastic frame is the docking point for the backpack plate, which we will show you in detail soon. The carrying frame also offers another essential feature.

But this has to do with the armor of the carrying frame, which we will show you in all details in the next review. So much is revealed: with the plate carrier front part in the picture, you can upgrade your MAROM DOLPHIN Fusion System to a full-fledged ballistic plate carrier. By the way, one of the most comfortable ones we've ever worn (Cryes CPC or AVS System can keep up, but of course, it's a completely different setup).

Here is an older video from MAROM DOLPHIN, which explains the entire system again. For the review, we had the latest version available, so the buckles and a few small details look different than in this video.

CONCLUSION: The carrying frame, together with the T-Belt, forms the core of the MAROM DOLPHIN Fusion System. The idea of the divided water tanks on the sides, where they are not particularly bothersome, is extremely well done. Also, the many very well thought out and functional details make it clear that MAROM DOLPHIN knows what they are doing and listens to those who use such a MAROM DOLPHIN Fusion System. What we had in hand is professional carrying equipment that is gladly used and is mission-oriented.
