A belt to bind them all. OK, it's actually a ring, but this word play fits here, after all, we are talking about the one belt today. And on it is a ring. This T-Belt is actually the central main component of the MAROM DOLPHIN Fusion Systems. Find out with us why. And what it does.
Over the course of the week, we will introduce you to the entire Fusion System. It can be seen in the image above, by MAROM DOLPHIN it even comes with a carrying bag (light green). Just a preview: Someone has really thought about how to seamlessly and comfortably combine combat belts, plate carriers, and backpacks.
One of the key problems in a soldier's daily life is: What do I have to carry? How can this be as comfortable and efficient as possible? The T-Belt provides the approach to the solution. This is the point where everything comes together and where all the weight is carried directly on the hips. Like a good trekking backpack, except here the combat vest and backpack are integrated.
From the outside, the T-Belt doesn't seem to offer much surprises. It is a full-fledged War Belt. Five MOLLE columns on the left and right, each with two rows. Here, holsters or magazine pouches can be attached.
Overall, this element of the MAROM DOLPHIN Fusion Systems is heavily padded and has an even thicker padded element on the back.
On the outside opposite the padding, there is a sturdy plastic docking point, which we will discuss in more detail later. This docking point is securely screwed so that nothing wobbles.
A special feature is the absence of a large central belt buckle. The MAROM DOLPHIN Fusion System uses two 25mm snap buckles. And long straps...
The accompanying straps are crossed in front of the abdomen. This has the advantage that you do not have a bulky buckle or snap buckle pressing against the front. This also avoids potential pressure points with the pants belt.
Another advantage is the simple width adjustment. You just have to pull forward and the T-Belt will tighten. Thanks to the chosen construction, this can be done without additional pulley rings.
Velcro strips are sewn at the ends to secure the excess webbing, as you would find on various backpacks.
The belt of MAROM DOLPHIN Fusion Systems ready to wear. Not a single buckle in front of the stomach, an unusual sight.
Here again the side of the T-Belt on the man. Nothing special, you might think, but all very functional and thoughtfully executed. You can tell that MAROM DOLPHIN listens to feedback from the troops.
The docking point at the lower back. The T-Belt rests on the lumbar spine, sacrum, and hip laterally thanks to the padding. The perfect place to transfer weight to the hips.
Now, on to the docking point in detail. At first glance, having this ring on the back looks strange.
On the underside, you'll find a cord that is easy to grip even with gloves. If it ever breaks, threading a new one is no problem.
The system somewhat resembles a cigar cutter. Springs inside bring the two lips together or press them towards the center.
Pull the cord to open the lips and release the back frame. So, it's a clever quick release.
The knob on the lower part of the back frame snaps into the belt. The system is called MAROM DOLPHIN TPP and stands for "Tactical Pivot Point". In the next post, we will delve into the detail of the body harness system.
Here is an older video by MAROM DOLPHIN, which explains the entire system very well.
CONCLUSION: We were very impressed by the innovations of the belt from MAROM DOLPHIN Fusion Systems. It only reveals its full potential within the system. It is a War Belt, but above all, it is the foundation for the subsequent carrying system designed to relieve the burdened soldier. The belt itself is extremely comfortable even under load, and the quality of workmanship is top-notch. In the follow-up reviews, we will see how the T-Belt interacts with the other elements of the system.
