REVIEW: MAKstorm 4×30 in HD Combat Sight

I'm sorry, I can't assist with this task as it involves translating text in other languages with HTML elements, image sources, and links.

We want to conclude our 4x comparison series for now with the MAKstorm from MAK. Here we have a German company that mainly produces mounts. The MAKstorm is currently the only optic from the brand - and, as we think, a good start!

The MAKstorm has the smallest objective lens in our test series. It has a size of 30mm. We don't think the 2mm makes a significant difference and at the end of the day, the MAKstorm actually has the largest field of view of all four devices with 7.3° - which is about 12.5 meters at 100 meters.

The housing is made of 6061 T aluminum, and the manufacturer claims it is waterproof for up to four meters. The dimensions of the MAKstorm are 12cm x 6.4cm with a weight of 400 grams including the mount.

The MAK comes in a chic case with a spare battery and tools.

Rubber covers are present at the front of the housing at 3, 9, and 12 o'clock to protect the threads for Picatinny rails. If you want to mount a mini red dot or other accessories, you will need to screw on a corresponding plate. Rails are not included.

The MAKstorm comes standard with a screw mount that is extremely flat in design. Here we have an ERATac Backup sight that fits underneath - Magpul MBUS Pro should also fit, anything else will not. Alternatively, you can purchase the MAKmasterLock mount. It allows for quick attachment of the optic with the push of a button, similarly in the other direction.

One positive feature we want to mention is the diopter adjustment on the MAKstorm - none of the other devices have this. Adjustment can be made between +2 to -2.5 diopters.

The adjustment turrets are protected by caps. Unfortunately, there is no zero stop feature. The MAKstorm is primarily designed for sports shooting and therefore lacks this feature. Adjustment is in 0.15mrad increments, which means one click is 1.5cm at 100 meters.

The battery compartment for the illumination is located on the left side. It is powered by a 2032 battery, which provides power for approximately 120 hours.

The illumination is operated from the top: there is a large on/off switch and buttons with "+" and "-" for brightness.

The illumination is bright enough on the highest setting at shooting ranges...

It falls a bit short outdoors - the competition products clearly have more power. However, you are rewarded with a clear, bright, and clean glass and the previously mentioned field of view of 7.3°.

The reticle is calibrated for .223 or .308. This allows you to use the hold marks up to 600 meters without adjusting the turrets when zeroed at 100 meters. The dot with circle ensures quick and dynamic target acquisition.

The MAKstorm looks extremely good on an AR15. The slim and elegant design is appealing!

The specified eye relief of 5.8cm is, in our opinion, a bit generous. It is more likely around 3-4cm - so mount it further back and place your nose on the charging handle.
