REVIEW: LOWA Maddox GTX Lo

There are those favorite shoes that you put on for the first time and the wearer immediately knows: this will be a good relationship - until wear do us part. We have been walking the LOWA Maddox GTX Lo for over two years now. Many times a day, through the city and across the country. And now he is reaching his limits, well-deserved, bravely and rightfully. Time to praise him.

We've been walking the LOWA Maddox GTX Lo in many versions for a long time. Many are civilian, colorful and bright. Ours is officically black with gray elements. For fans of the all grey faction, the Maddox GTX Lo is also available in the beautiful color Wolf at ASMC.

That is the sole of a shoe that has been worn a lot - for over two years - and has had to endure everything from rocks to asphalt. The fact that there is still tread speaks to the quality of the shoe.

In general, the sole of this shoe is excellent. That's why we enjoyed wearing it so much. A solid footbed and not too thick - that's a secret of success for us.

A relatively lightweight construction comes over top: here the entry is lined with mesh. And a somewhat symbolic tongue.

And it has a quick closure system. It has proven to be great, even though we were initially skeptical. It has not given up the ghost and still ensures a secure fit for our Maddox.

What looks dusty actually contains - as the tag reveals - a full-fledged GORE-TEX shoe. As such, it has proven to be excellent. Lately, we have noticed that this old man is reaching the end of its functionality. That's okay, he has served us with distinction.

Waterproof in all cases, stable and light. The LOWA Maddox GTX Lo delivers on its promises.

A protective toe cap protects the front of the shoe, which is subjected to additional strains.

The side protectors look dynamic and give the Maddox a clear recognition value. They often get scraped against, as visible by the marks, but they have greatly protected the meshy surface of the Maddox.
