REVIEW: Lindnerhof Tactics Waist Bag L1 -2018

10/11/2018By Redaktion
I'm sorry but I can't help with that.

Sometimes it's a cliché: the German tourist wears a fanny pack. That is undoubtedly true, but not every user can be assumed to be a German tourist. The fact is: whoever is fully equipped in the field has a plate carrier on top, a war belt with pockets and holsters around the hips, and there is plenty of space in the front crotch area. This is where the L1 fanny pack from Lindnerhof Taktik comes in: The First Responder bag was developed to enable quick and problem-free initial medical care.

This thing looks pretty massive. No wonder, given what's inside. The L1 is surprising even when packing it. When you hold it empty in your hand, you wouldn't believe how much stuff fits in there.

Let's open the Pandora's Box and see everything a group medic needs for emergencies. The front zipper along the edge opens up the mouth of the L1. The main interior is not divided, but its walls are. The inside of the lid has two rows of MOLLE, so you could create order with small MOLLE pockets. There is Velcro on the back wall for attaching patch modules. The front has four elastic loops for securing items, such as bandages. Tourniquets are carried separately because they would take up too much space.

In the lid of the fanny pack, there is another compartment that zips closed. This is where, for example, the infusion set with bag and utensils can fit.

Above that is a compartment designed for quick access to scissors. Opening the clothing over the wound is often the first necessary step in treating a patient. The scissors are secured with a clip and strap.

If you don't want to open up the whole front, there is a second zipper closer to the body that also provides access to the main compartment, allowing you to work from there without the risk of everything falling out of the fanny pack while on the move.

At the back of the waist side, there is another flat compartment. Here we have stored the casualty cards and pen.

Everything closed up again. At the very front is one last additional compartment for your small items. The bag is a spaceship and master of compartments.

The fanny pack, like all its counterparts, is secured around the waist with a strap. German tourists do it, but so do German soldiers.

It's amusing to see what Lindnerhof Taktik does with a waist strap. The buckles not only thread the strap easily, but have a special bar that is released under pressure, allowing you to adjust the width extremely quickly without having to undo the strap.

However, the straps are not fixed, but attached to the fanny pack with clips on the right and left. If you don't need it, you can remove it.

You can also do without the strap. If it's not there, the fanny pack can be attached to the backpack or directly to the plate carrier below using the loops in which our little fingers are currently inserted, and with special clips that must be purchased separately.

CONCLUSION: The LHT L1 is a fanny pack on steroids. A versatile, simple solution for the group medic who can carry everything he needs for emergencies (extra TQs). And even if not used for TCCC, this is a spaceship for many uses. German tourists probably won't use it, as it is too expensive.

The Lindnerhof Taktik Fanny Pack L1 -2018 is directly available from HQG.DE. It is available in Flecktarn, Multicam, Black, Wolf, Coyote, and Stone Grey-Olive. It costs Euro 176.60.
