REVIEW: LEO KÖHLER Deployment gear PHANTOMLEAF WASP II Z4

The leaves of the phantom are growing back: PHANTOMLEAF is coming around the corner with the next camouflage pattern. WASP II Z4 is supposed to be an urban pattern. For us, this is the second commercial pattern from the German camouflage forge that we see. Just over a year ago, we were able to present the green WASP II Z3a – HERE in the SPARTANAT Review. What remains the same: the first one to implement PHANTOMLEAF in tactical clothing is Leo Köhler.

We are familiar with the combination: classic from Leo Köhler, consisting of the Command Field Blouse on top and the Mission Combat Pants at the bottom. Never change a winning team.

The Command Field Blouse has a conventionally cut collar.

Shoulder pieces are added on the right and left. It's exciting to see which colors are involved in the urban camouflage pattern from PHANTOMLEAF.

Always in action against the unknown soldier: the Velcro strip on the chest ensures that you get your name on the field blouse. Below that, the chest pocket, on the upper arm a pocket with Velcro area.

The closure is absolutely secure because the fabric edge is folded over and then Velcroed. We first saw this on Russian gear, it's extremely practical.

After equipment is put on top of the field blouse, it dispenses with rubbing buttons. Everything is Velcroed.

And the sleeve closure is also adjustable with Velcro.

It really shimmers on the Command Field Blouse from the back. Every camouflage pattern is only as good as the background against which one moves. Here, contrast was important to us, otherwise you wouldn't see anything from PHANTOMLEAF.

The Mission Combat Pants are buttoned and zipped up. It is designed for a very wide belt and has buttons to attach suspenders.

The pockets on the pants are conventional, with a D-ring above for securing equipment with a lanyard, for example.

There are very large, unarticulated pockets on the thighs. With the strap, they can be cinched down so that everything stays in place even when moving.

The straps can be adjusted by hand.
