They just want to play. That's an argument: the market for plate carriers is definitely bigger than the military market - and it consumes civilian models faster. INVADER GEAR is a brand that produces specifically for this market. While everyone else values military gear, players are the target audience here. But what can a plate carrier like the Reaper QRB from INVADER do? We took a closer look at this piece for you.
INVADER GEAR relies on laser cut. It is then two-layered, because otherwise the carrier would have holes. It's sewn cleanly, and the laser cutting is also precise. The material is not Cordura and will also pass an NIR test with night vision goggles. But, hey, it doesn't have to.
But otherwise, the Reaper QRB looks as appealing as many other plate carriers on the market. Ranger Green is extremely reminiscent of RAL7013. The flap is attached and can be configured as needed. You just need the necessary pockets for it.
Velcro on the chest and two straps for PTTs, for example.
The flap is secured with clips and velcro.
Probably not one of the world's leading brand manufacturers, but the clip works fine. Both are, however, firmly sewn, so if one breaks, it needs to be sewn, not just re-threaded.
And a flexible flap, you could even have two or three configured according to your weapon or equipment and easily exchange them with a single hand movement. Or simply attach a microrig to the front.
Here we are at the docking points for the cummerbund. You can see the quick releases at the ends.
The shoulders are an important part of a carrier, and we really like them here because they are super padded. The inner surfaces are made with mesh.
And it even has an innovative adjustment system with G-hook, which we have never seen before.
The back is all MOLLE. Our Reaper had foam plates in SAPI shape inside.
There's a handle on top. Even though your life probably doesn't depend on it when you wear the Reaper.
At the back, the cummerbund is velcroed in, so it can be adjusted.
