REVIEW: IMI Defense Polymer Enhanced Bipod Foregrip

08/08/2015By Redaktion

Everything under control? That's good. And as good as a firm grip on the rifle may be. Sometimes you need more. Especially when you know that shooting from a rest is required, you can reach for those grips that have it integrated. We introduced the Grippod a while ago, now IMI Defense is coming to market with its interpretation, the Polymer Enhanced Bipod Foregrip. We took a look at it for you.

SONY DSCThe IMI Defense Polymer Enhanced Bipod Foregrip attaches to the rail on the rifle in a classic way. The nut is secured against loss. So, just unscrew it, attach it, and push it onto the rail. Then tighten it firmly, the EBF is mounted. The essential part is the small push button, which generally points backwards and then is triggered with the thumb...

SONY DSC... and CLICK, the bipod extends. It is completely made of plastic and sufficiently stable. With the Grippod in the military version, it is made of metal, there are acrobatic images of someone standing on their supported weapon. Not necessary. You want to quickly and stably rest the weapon for shooting. The EBF helps you excellently, with the legs also roughened at the bottom so nothing slips. If the bipod is not needed, fold both legs together and quickly push them into the body.

SONY DSCAnother benefit of the EBF is that a small piece of rail is mounted on the head. If it is not needed, it can be unscrewed. Otherwise, it is ideal for the offset mounting of a light.

SONY DSCThe entire EBF from IMI Defense is made of polymer. However, the body also has a non-slip rubber coating, making the grip easy to hold. It is flattened on the sides so that the buttons of light and laser can be cleanly placed. Add some Velcro or adhesive tape, and they are mounted.

SONY DSCBarely larger than a regular grips and yet an additional value that is an advantage in case of emergency. CLICK! And the shooter can shoot stably from a rest.

CONCLUSION: A good and practical solution, implemented appealingly with design. The grip and bipod are a practical combo for shooters who shoot both freestanding and from a rest.

The IMI Defense Polymer Enhanced Bipod Foregrip is available directly from IMI Defense or retailers who carry IMI Defense. It costs $135.
