REVIEW: Helikon-Tex Torba Range Bag

If you want to shoot seriously, you need a lot of stuff: targets, ear protection, cleaning cloths, rangefinders, etc. It would be practical if all these things were collected in a bag - even better if they were organized. Helikon-Tex has just released a new Range Bag that meets these requirements. Let us introduce you to the Torba Range Bag in more detail: The Range Bag comes in a very convenient size of approximately 35 x 25 x 20 cm. Thanks to the detachable shoulder strap and two carrying handles, the Range Bag is always easy to transport. It is also completely reinforced, maintaining its boxy shape.

On the outside, there are a total of five pockets. On each of the two short sides, there is an attached pocket that easily accommodates stopwatches, rangefinders, and similar items, secured with Velcro closure.In the lid, there is a zippered compartment for documents and similar items.On the long front side, there is a Velcro pocket similar to the side pockets. This pocket contains very well-designed compartments for pens, flashlights, phones, and more.The fifth pocket is closed with a single Velcro field and serves more as a pocket for flat papers. This one was specially designed for targets.As seen in the previous photos, the zipper extends down the side, allowing one long side (back with target compartment) to be completely unfolded. Very practical, as this provides unrestricted access to the insides.Speaking of the insides. The Torba Range Bag is completely covered with loop Velcro inside, with practical MOLLE webbing. Here you can go wild with Velcro pouches. Soon, the already announced Versatile Insert System-Line will be available, offering even more customization options.

When purchasing the Range Bag, several VIS panels are included. Four double pistol inserts and one double, triple, and quintuple rifle magazine insert. So, everything you need to optimally use the bag is included from the start.As always, Helikon-Tex uses the best materials, 500d Cordura and YKK zippers. The color of our Torba Range Bag is Adaptive Green, which falls between RAL7013 aka (almost) Ranger Green and Coyote Brown.

CONCLUSION: Due to its rigid exterior and internal modularity with Velcro, the Range Bag can also be used as a tactical tool or briefcase. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for legally correct weapon transport in Germany as it is not lockable, but as a readily accessible storage space for non-lockable shooting accessories, it is an extremely practical and well-thought-out solution at a very good price.
