Probably everyone carries a lot of small stuff with them every day. Anyone who claims otherwise is lying! At least, we are now making this bold statement. The guys and girls at Helikon-Tex have come up with the EDC insert to keep all this small stuff together, even in two sizes.

From the outside, both look very unspectacular, only the LARGE Insert is about a centimeter wider, to be more precise, it is four. The Medium measures 17x12x5 cm and the Large is 4 cm wider, so 21x12x5 cm.

On the back, you will find the Velcro that can be concealed as needed, just like in many other Helikon-Tex VIS bags. What stands out are the two loops at the top of the Medium Inserts. With these, the bag can be attached to MOLLE loops, dangling, as shown nicely in the video. They also help to pull the bag out of a tightly packed backpack.

As always, it's about the inner values, so also with the inserts. Both have loops and compartments in excess.

For the details, let's start with the Medium Insert. On the front, there is a zippered compartment for small notepads, charging cables, etc. We replaced the paracord of the zipper pull with an orange one. The factory version comes in a nice coyote color as well.

At the bottom, two rubber loops, on the back three compartments with band and rubber loops each 5 cm wide. Leatherman, lighter, and other items feel at home in them.

Behind that is a large compartment across the entire width. In the middle, the insert has been equipped with a dummy cord loop to ensure that the small, important things don't get lost.

The Large Insert has a very similar interior layout, except that the rear compartment is divided into 9 cm widths on each side.

In front of that, you will find four compartments on the outside, each 6 cm wide, and the two middle ones are 3.5 cm wide. So there is more space for small things.

CONCLUSION: We find both inserts to be very successful. Thanks to thoughtful, good division, it is now a joy to carry around a lot of small stuff.
