When it really becomes winter, we prefer to curl up behind the warm stove. But we have to and want to go outside. And there, the hands are exposed to the cold – and immediately it gets really cold. To prevent our beloved fingers from freezing, there are hand warmers. Grandma used to call them muff. In Special Forces, hand warmers are increasingly being seen in use. SPARTANAT presents the model from Ferro Concepts.
In the featured image you can see the military muff in action: It is worn around the waist, hanging in front of the private parts it doesn't bother at all. If the situation allows or demands, hands can be placed in the hand warmer and warmed up. Hands also fit in with gloves, as the piece is quite spacious. Here in the picture you can also see a look inside: cuddly fleece is waiting for you to hide your fingers in here. At both ends of this muff, there is also a cuff as a windbreak with an elastic band incorporated, so that the insertion opening can be made as narrow as possible. The Ferro Concepts muff is V-shaped, which fits the position of the hands coming together at belt level. There are also hand warmers from other manufacturers (Under Armour, Eagle Industries), which are just straight tubes.CONCLUSION: People like to laugh at some pieces of equipment. The tactical muff is one of them. Actually, it comes from hunting or sports and it is quite practical. Jacket pockets are more uncomfortable, pant pockets ("American Gloves") are impractical when it comes to warming up the hands. Whether standing on guard or at the shooting range, the hand warmer fulfills its purpose perfectly. The hands snuggle into this little sleeping bag and come out ready for action, even in the coldest conditions. And you can also misuse the muff as storage space: there is still room for a small snack that shouldn't freeze.
This hand warmer is available in the colors Multicam, AOR2 and Desert Digital directly from Ferro Concepts for 45 CAD (34 Euro).
