REVIEW: ERATAC Trigger for AR systems

Introduced at IWA 2024, we have already received for testing purposes: the ERATAC trigger for AR systems. Whether AR15 or AR10, as long as they are Milspec, the trigger should fit.

The trigger is delivered in a practical Cordura bag. Also included are installation instructions, a Torx T5 for installation and adjustment of the trigger weight, and a certificate.

This is where it goes. An OA-15 SL 10, which currently has a GEISSELE trigger installed.

Advantage of the ERATAC trigger - it is a true drop-in trigger. Everything is built in one piece and there are no multiple parts or the need to worry about tensioned springs during installation.

Another advantage: the trigger offers two weight settings. One kilogram and 1.5 kilograms. This was chosen with sports shooters and shooting regulations in mind.

Truly drop-in: the safety does not need to be removed. Simply insert the trigger through the opening first, hold it slightly tilted, and it is in.

In a few seconds, the ERATAC is installed, what is still missing now are the pins for fastening. They are also already included.

Here is where the Torx screwdriver comes into play. Two screws, where the pins are located, are turned and the built-in pins spread internally and secure the trigger.

This is what it looks like in the end and the trigger is ready for use with just a few simple steps.

One quirk: When the trigger is released on an AR15, it normally cannot be secured. Here, the safety can be slightly engaged, but not fully.

Off to the shooting range, because the dry training already felt very good. However, it is important to note that the trigger is a Single Stage Trigger, therefore a direct trigger. There is no slack, the shot breaks directly. The breaking of the shot is often described as "crystal clear", which we can actually agree with to some extent. Without "creeping" or "slipping", the shot releases clearly and consistently. The reset is very short and also clear.

CONCLUSION: On the long track we conclude our test and come to the conclusion. The trigger is - as usual from ERATAC - a piece of precision. Drop-In ensures quick installation. Two popular and sufficient weights are covered with this trigger and therefore ideal for sports shooters. A direct trigger is personally less liked for dynamic shooting, but ERATAC knows that a Two-Stage Trigger is also desired and is probably already working on it.
