REVIEW: Condor Vanquish RS Plate Carrier

CONDOR is known for equipment that offers great value for the price. We took a close look at their Vanquish RS Plate Carrier and want to find out if this plate carrier lives up to its reputation.

This is how the Vanquish RS looks on a person. It definitely makes a good impression. The MOLLE/PALS laser cut covers the entire front, and there is plenty of Velcro space as well. You can customize it with pouches according to your needs.

The base material is a type of Cordura laminate with rounded PALS slots lasered into it. Everything is very well crafted.

Let's start on the inside: To ensure a comfortable fit for the Vanquish RS Plate Carrier, it comes with padding. This padding is made of 3D spacer mesh fabric and does its job well.

The padding is simply velcroed in and can be easily removed - here we have it on the shoulders. The inside of the Vanquish RS, on the other hand, is made of fine velour.

The plate pockets are executed in a straightforward but functional manner. Various protective plates fit inside: SAPIs in M and L but also Swimmercut SAPIs. Thanks to the velcroed webbing, the plates are held securely in place. There's nothing as annoying as an unsecured SAPI plate falling on your toes.

To prevent the plate pockets from dangling loosely in front of your chest and back, they need to be secured. This task is accomplished by the cummerbund. In the case of the Vanquish RS, the cummerbund is relatively wide compared to other plate carriers. You will also find plenty of MOLLE/PALS slots here.

A large velcro area is sewn on the inside. This serves to fasten the separately available side SAPI pouches.

The cummerbund is constructed in two layers, so you can store additional equipment here. The soft armor also fits securely.

Most of you will have noticed it right away at the beginning. The Vanquish RS uses ROC buckles. These ensure fast donning and doffing of the plate carrier. Even in emergencies, the PC can be opened quickly and easily.

These buckles are also used on the shoulder. One grip, one pull – all open. And the reverse is closed.

The shoulder straps are simple and functional.

The padding is attached via Velcro so that nothing can slip and you still have a good wearing experience.

At the same time, the fixing tabs of the padding can also be used to organize the cable mess or securely guide the drinking tube forward. A simple solution that we really like.

Let's move on to the back view. Nothing special in a way, just tons of PALS slots and Velcro. Of course, the carrying handle is essential. This is very solidly executed on the Vanquish RS plate carrier.

In the lower back area hides the width adjustment of the cummerbund. This can be adjusted to a girth between 86 and 127cm. Thanks to the round elastic, this is flexible and you won't run out of breath.

Under the chin on the front, there is a Velcro-admin pouch for useful small items.

The Vanquish RS plate carrier is right on trend as it offers you enough Velcro on the front to work with placards or Micro Rigs. These can then be attached directly to the front with the appropriate buckles.

CONCLUSION: We are extremely satisfied with the performance of the Vanquish RS Plate Carrier from CONDOR. At a reasonable price, you get a solid, full-featured plate carrier that doesn't need to hide. On the contrary: Price-performance wonder!
