REVIEW: Casio F-91W

12/17/2012By Redaktion

The Watch of Evil. It owes this name, among other things, to the man in the image above, who is surely known to all. On his wrist, it proudly displays the Casio F-91W. We have taken a closer look at the probably evilest watch on this planet.

This small, only 21g light watch has a stopwatch accurate to 1/100 second, an alarm mode, a calendar, a red backlight, and it is "Water Resistant." This means it survives splashing water, but it is not suitable for swimming, let alone diving. Every month, the watch runs 0.5 to 1 minute late, which is not particularly serious. The design of the watch strongly resembles 90's hairdryer hairstyles and everything else that was fashionable at the beginning of the 1990s, as it was released in 1991.

We like to use this watch for sporting activities to measure our time. But you should not be out for longer than 1 hour, otherwise the stopwatch will reset to 0:00. We have been using our model for over a year now and the battery is still going strong; according to the manufacturer, it should last 7 years. Only the black Casio F91-W are originals; all colorful variations are counterfeits, but they are said to be not so bad.

It is called the Watch of Evil because according to reports from Guantanamo, it is very popular for use in triggering IEDs (Source: Wikipedia). Therefore, this watch should perhaps not be worn when entering the USA, as you could end up in the aforementioned "prison" because of it.

Conclusion: A small, affordable watch for all kinds of sports activities. It should definitely not be missing in the arsenal of a Taliban reenactor.
