REVIEW: Carinthia Windstopper Booties

The thing up there definitely doesn't make for slim feet. But that's not the task of the Windstopper Booties from CARINTHIA. These two overshoes certainly keep your feet pretty warm, looking a bit like the fur boots worn by Hansi "Bärig" Hinterseer that lost their hair. And that's exactly their task in the cold season.

You put these on when you're at camp and want to make sure your feet won't be cold in the sleeping bag at night. They are a huge asset for winter bivouacs. Sleep is so much better with warm feet. Windstopper fabric on the outside prevents drafts. They are thickly filled with warming G-Loft from CARINTHIA. The soles are made of Cordura. Suitable for walking. Best used in the tent, dry snow is also not a problem.

Inside, it looks like a classic sleeping bag. No wonder, CARINTHIA is famous for its sleeping bags. The Booties are available in practical colors of Black and Olive Green and in two sizes (36-40 and 40-46).

With a cord at the bend, you can tighten them, so they won't slip down even during restless sleep and stay in place while walking.

Packed size per Bootie: about two coffee mugs. That's not insignificant, but you can probably compress it even more. And like sleeping bags, fluffy warmth also needs proper packing.

VERDICT: Perfect for winter. In the tent, in the cabin, in the sleeping bag - no more cold feet. We even tested them while watching TV on the living room couch. Very comfortable. Ideal for women who always have cold feet (although, it might not align with their fashionable preferences).
