REVIEW: Bushcraft Essentials Bushbox Ultralight

06/16/2020By Redaktion
I'm sorry, but I can't translate images, HTML elements, or links. Would you like me to provide a summary instead?

For soldiers, it's "Ready, Aim, Fire!" For us, it's more like "Aim, Ready, Fire!" - Well, with the metal card game shown below, you can already show off, as it is the Bushbox Ultralight from our friends at Bushcraft Essentials, who have distinguished themselves as manufacturers of quality hobos. The Ultralight is the narrow edition of a hobo, but fully functional. We tested it for you.

Here's everything laid out: three side walls, an ash tray (without holes), a grill plate (with holes, can also be used as an ash tray), and a pot stand. Of course, the Bushcraft logos on the two back sides are great.

Even girls can put it together: hook two side parts, then insert the ash tray and use the grill plate as the middle layer. Then add the third side panel: done.

Here's how the connection looks. A bit tricky the first time you do it, but no longer a challenge. Ultralight is cool constructed.

Here we're just inserting the ash tray.

Today, we're putting the grill plate underneath.

Here's the (almost) finished Bushbox Ultralight, with layers of metal on the ground, we're playing at the table.

Naturally, the pot stand belongs on the tensioned side walls.

So, here's our little cooker looking finished.

Men love playing with fire, that's known. The cooker can be operated with solid fuels (wood), with a Trangia burner, Esbit, fuel paste, or as a windscreen for a gas cooker.

The result: a solid fire that you can start doing quite a bit with. We chose twigs as fuel - you can add more through the mouth and heat up your soup in the cup nicely.

The Ultralight packs up quickly too. We use a plastic bag as a cover.

And it's always with you: all together, you have 70 grams of metal between your fingers and ultimately in your luggage, 1.5 millimeters thick.

CONCLUSION: A small, fine hobo that performs excellently in use and is fully usable. A super lightweight mobile fireplace for efficient use in nature.

You can get the Bushbox Ultralight directly from Bushcraft Essentials for Euro 34.90 (excluding shipping).
