Does a good knife have to be super expensive to be effective? Some knife manufacturers want us to believe that. BE-X proves them wrong. The Allemans Tactical is the tactical blade that enriches the BE-X range and was designed under the guidance of BE-X development manager Walter Ruf. We wanted to find out if it lives up to its reputation and took a look at the knife - in the top view - for you.
The blade of the Allemans Tactical is a practical 11.5 cm long, 3cm wide, and has a serrated edge, ideal for cutting ropes and straps. In front of that, the blade is smooth for regular cutting tasks. The notch in front of the handle is a special feature: here you can strike your fire steel. And it's also "tactical": coated in black.
The Allemans in the handle: on the top side (left) a notch, so you can apply pressure with your thumb. You can also hold the blade in a full grip and lead it. If someone wants to put their fingers in the small notch for flint and cuts themselves, they're a fool.
That's the whole Allemans package. The knife - 22.5 cm long and 280 gr heavy - comes with a solid Kydex sheath (85 gr) and a mount for it. Screws are included. Also, the cord for the lanyard. The screwdriver is an addition in case you want to change the handle scales, which can be purchased separately in Tan or OD, for example. The metal mounting plate allows the sheath to be attached horizontally or vertically to your gear.
All of this comes in a sturdy box with the note that the knife was designed in Germany. Production is located in the Far East.
CONCLUSION: Whether you understand "Allemans" in French or Swedish, the knife is Swabian: With the Allemans Tactical, BE-X offers a work knife with an excellent price-performance ratio. Made for practical, heavy use (There is also a "civilian" bushcraft edition, which you can find presented HERE). A quality user knife without frills.
You can get the BE-X Allemans directly from Begadi, here is the tactical edition. And here is the bushcraft edition.
