REVIEW: Arc'teryx LEAF Khard 45

Sometimes size does matter. And if 30 liters are enough, the Khard 30 fits (HERE the review) and for those who need more, the Khard 45 will make them happy. Also from the Law Enforcement & Armed Forces (LEAF) line of the Canadian premium gear manufacturer Arc'teryx, it is available in Germany at TACWRK. The Khard 45 from different angles. The design is actually the same as the 30, but differs in some details. In essence, it is also built around a stiff backplate and features a non-articulated main compartment, a few integrated pockets, MOLLE, and Shock Cord to attach items externally.

Looking into the Khard 45, you can see plenty of Velcro again. Those who want to customize the interior can use LBX pouches for that (HERE in the review). In the lid, the Khard 45 has a large compartment (top right). One difference from the 30 is the adjustable strap that can cinch the shoulder straps together in front of the chest. 45 liters can handle more weight...

In the side view, you can see the straps with which the backpack can be cinched together. The MOLLE is very thin, weight is saved everywhere. At the top in the lid, there's a side pocket, and at the bottom, a carrying handle if you want to take the backpack horizontally.

30 and 45 together: you can also see the difference in the execution of the hip belts. 30 has thin straps, 45 is nicely padded.

Big and little brother together: doesn't look like much of a difference between 30 and 45 liters.

CONCLUSION: An excellent backpack in the higher price range. Holds more, and is better padded for it.
