REVIEW: 6094A Clone - Flyye vs. A-Two

12/12/2013By Redaktion

The 6094A from London Bridge Trading is the carrier that has set standards worldwide. Accordingly, it has often been a topic of conversation for us. This time, we show you two replicas that come in the desert camouflage color AOR1 of the SEALs and its green counterpart AOR2. The first one is from Flyye, the other one from A-Two, both available in Germany at SNIPER AS.

Flyye ATwo 6094A_2The "Seal Team Plate Carrier" is the name of this item at Sniper AS. Here is the Flyye version. Front plate, back plate, cummerbund in between. The 6094 has plenty of space on its MOLLE loops, but lately it has also been seen mostly in use without a lot of pocket equipment. And let's be honest: less weight means more freedom for the wearer.

Flyye ATwo 6094A_3The "Seal Team Plate Carrier" from A-Two uses material that matches the green camouflage pattern of the teams. The color is okay, but the carrier overall, compared to Flyye, is a bit stiff. In the front flap, you can activate the kangaroo pouch. With an insert, three magazines fit in here, more than enough for an operation.

Flyye ATwo 6094A_4The comparison of the interiors. A-Two uses Velcro at several points, which is not used in the originals. Not that it bothers us, but it wasn't necessary.

Flyye ATwo 6094A_5Flap open, cummerbund velcroed. Here you can see that both manufacturers work very well. The seams are mostly correct; always with Flyye. This manufacturer really has the best quality.

Flyye ATwo 6094A_6The interior of the cummerbund. Integrated in it is a pouch for an MBITR radio, you can see the fastening each left top. Unfortunately, this pouch is too small in the A-Two version. An MBITR doesn't fit in here. Flyye, on the other hand, gets it just right.

Flyye ATwo 6094A_7The A-Two AOR2 comes with two foam plates that simulate SAPIS. They remind us a bit of a flotation kit that provides buoyancy in water. They are a bit too thick for SAPIS, but they are certainly very warm and have hardly any weight.

CONCLUSION: The 6094A is a plate carrier that you can't go wrong with. The A-TWO replica has the wonderful AOR2, but the material is quite stiff and there are a few little things we don't like, but they still make it a fully-fledged carrier (apart from the annoying MBITR compartment). Flyye, on the other hand, delivers a perfect replica, so well sewn that we would even call it an operational plate carrier. The 6094A from Flyye leaves nothing to be desired.

You can get the Seal Team Plate Carrier in AOR1 from Flyye at SNIPER AS for 149.90 euros. The Seal Team Plate Carrier in AOR2 from A-Two is available there for 129.90 euros (excluding shipping).
