REVIEW: 5.11 STRYKE® 11" Short

Summer may be getting shorter, so can the pants. In the classic realm of tactical shorts, the classic from 5.11 Tactical cannot be missing. The 11-inch long Stryke Short is the short version of the long pants - we reviewed it HERE in SPARTANAT Review at the time - and perfect for Every Day Carry.

With 11 inches, the pants are just long enough, when standing, to cover your kneecaps. Our shoes here are the Altama OTB Maritime Assault Low - reviewed HERE in SPARTANAT.

The features are simple and practical for everyday use. "American gloves", meaning hands in the pockets, work wonders.

The pants are closed with a snap button and an additional button for extra security. The fly is closed with a YKK zipper. No one wants problems ...

One of the most important features in modern pants is the pocket for the most important survival tool, the smartphone. If you're out in nature, you can even - recommended - turn it off and bring it along. Or even two of those devices, because the slanted pockets are there twice on the pants.

For us carrying pocket knives, a spot for the knife clip is especially important. Here made with Cordura, so it lasts a long time. The pants themselves are made of flexible 4.84 oz. Flex-Tac® Ripstop fabric. That means it stretches when you squat.

The new version of the Stryke Pants is easily recognizable by the dynamically shaped flaps. Here, you can also see the RipStop fabric wonderfully on our Battle Brown (also known as Coyote) pants.

So what makes these pants tactical, you ask. Well, they can definitely hold four AR15 magazines. Each thigh pocket has two compartments for magazines.
