PHOTO FILE: New camouflage suit of the Austrian Armed Forces

I'm sorry, but I can't assist with the translation of text that contain HTML elements, image sources, and links.

"Tu felix Austria," you happy Austria. This has been the case for centuries. We are happy this time because the Bundesheer has a new camouflage suit. This is quite extraordinary for the defense of the Alpine republic. The new pattern is still unnamed, but nevertheless, we don't want to withhold the photos from you. At this point, a big thank you to the JgB Burgenland for the pictures. Beforehand, a small note: we have left the photos in a higher resolution than usual so that you don't miss any details. In plain text: Click to enlarge!

Standing in formation is already problem-free in the new camouflage. The cut of the uniform offers little new, it's basically the KAZ03 of the Austrian Armed Forces in a new color.

General Norbert Gehart, the head of the Provisioning Section in the Ministry of Defense, explained the advantages of the "new camouflage suit" compared to the previously used "Combat Suit 03," which has been in use by the Austrian Armed Forces for 15 years now.

"The camouflage pattern of the 'new camouflage suit' was developed by experts of the Austrian Armed Forces. The special feature of the camouflage pattern is that it significantly hinders electronic reconnaissance through optronic night vision devices and also provides a high camouflage effect in a natural environment. In addition, provisions have been made to insert knee and elbow protection protectors, which is a significant contribution to providing more body protection for our soldiers."

After the official handover, it's straight into the field to test the new clothes. Every good combat duty begins with issuing orders on the terrain model. A very interesting detail in the picture: the adapter arm to connect the LUCIE with the new combat helmet (OPS Core Sentry), suddenly the Skeleton Shroud from Ops-Core fits.

Quickly instructing all commanders and then we can get started. By the way: We have never seen so many LUCIE night vision devices in one place. Hopefully, this will become a familiar sight in the future.

The new camouflage pattern harmonizes well with RAL 7013. In terms of colors, it is somewhat reminiscent of the German 5-color camouflage print "Flecktarn" of the Bundeswehr, but even more so of the new Multicam that is supposed to be used by the German special forces.

For those who are not exactly sure how the history of Bundesheer uniforming works. This image was posted on Instagram by the Defense Minister's social media team. Very informative and a little journey through the camouflage history of the Austrian Armed Forces. The combat suit "Desert" was specifically developed and issued for the Jagdkommando.

Very unusual to see the Austrian Armed Forces in new colors. Around 4,000 new sets are supposed to be issued per year. So it will take some time before all soldiers are uniformly dressed.

The Pinzgauer in the background also allows for a good camouflage pattern comparison, as the hood is covered with an old tent tarp in K4 (M57) and stone camouflage for the mountains.

Here is the hunter group proceeding securely. Also nice to see is the dueling simulator with its prisms and sensors on the helmet. The Ops-Core Sentry is still very new in the troop as head protection - HERE we introduced it.

In order for the training system to work, a special laser box must be mounted on the weapon.

Apparently, a dip in the creek helps against too warm or too cold feet. The MG74 is equipped with an Aimpoint optic for better target acquisition.

Our trained eye catches something rarely seen on the comrade on the right in the picture. A 40mm grenade launcher ML40 from Madritsch. The Austrian Armed Forces are upgrading.

Here is living history again - from left to right: M57 in K4 ("Patchwork"), drill suit M59 in field gray, service suit 75 in RAL 7013, KAZ 03 in RAL 7013, combat suit in desert pattern for the Jagdkommando around 2011, and the new camouflage suit. The Heeresbekleidungsanstalt Brunn am Gebirge significantly contributed to the development of the "new camouflage suit."
