Photo File: LBT-9022B-T Blow Out Kit Pouch

SEALs have to live with it: As soon as they turn around, people stare at their asses. The reason for this is not the athletic butt that SEALs training produces, but the small pocket marked above: LBT-9022B-T or Modular Small Blow-Out Kit Pouch.

Here you can see the pouch, which is about the size of a paperback book, from both sides and in the highly coveted colors AOR2 and AOR1. Collectors pay between 200 and 300 dollars for the empty pouch in these colors, while in Multicam the LBT-9022B-T costs around 58 dollars directly from the manufacturer. The pouch holds a first aid kit that should be quickly accessible (hence: blow out): it has a sewn-on black red cross and a tab that covers and secures the pouch, which can be torn open.

On the opposite side there are MOLLE strips. The pouch can be attached to the armor or to the belt with two special loops (this is how it is most commonly seen, see top).

And this is the opening mechanism: tab out, pull, and the wire is gone and the pouch is open.
