OLIGTH, known and somewhat notorious for their flashlights, are trying their hand at a red dot optic. The Osight is a classic open RMR with a 3 MOA dot, available in red or green.
In addition to an RMR footprint for easy mounting, it offers some classic features like 70,000 hours of runtime and a motion and light sensor. Also highlighted by OLIGTH is the large viewing window. However, the dot doesn't go from edge to edge, and the glass may have significant distortions at the edges. These details can already be found in online forums.
It also has a built-in battery that can be charged via a cover. The cover displays the optic's charge level when attached. When the cover is removed, it shows the charge level of the cover. There is a cut-out on the back of the cover to fit over the rear sight. However, there are already negative reviews online stating that the cutout is too low when using an elevated rear sight (for example, for co-witnessing with the RMR).
It is not yet available in Europe. In America, the price for the red version is 200 US dollars and green is 230 US dollars. As is typical for OLIGTH, there are discount promotions to entice buyers. You can find the Osight HERE at the US Olightstore.
