Home visit to the official supplier of the German KSK. Lindnerhof exclusively presents its new gear for the year 2018. Not only the soldiers are curiously looking at the roll-ups. The Flotation Kit, seen on the right on the man, is already in use by the Bundeswehr.
The boss designs, the boss presents: Josef "Seppo" Sixt. Shortly before the appointment, there was a brief press release from the headquarters in Lenggries stating that there will be a "personnel change in the management of Lindnerhof-Taktik GmbH": "As of November 1, 2017, Mr. Josef Sixt has returned to the management of the company and will be solely in charge from January 1, 2018. Tim Vetter will accompany the company until January 31, 2018 and then withdraw from the operational business." Why? That's it.
But that wasn't the topic. In the Lindnerhof showroom, with Arc'teryx LEAF and Mystery Ranch in the background, whose equipment can be purchased online from the in-house shipping HQG.de, there was a compact media briefing in mid-November 2017 on the new products that LHT will introduce for the coming year. The highlight for 2018 will be the Modular Backpack, which - for the first time in Germany - can be fully operated by one man, even when clipped to the plate carrier. Essentially, it is a daypack equipped with a Beavertail: an external compartment that can hold, for example, a helmet. Inside, there is the option to stiffen the backpack with a simple plate or to insert a SAPI. In addition, the rear plate pocket can be replaced by the backpack on the PC.
The magic of the Modular Backpack lies in its extensive strap kit, which allows for a classic use with shoulder straps or mounting the pack on the plate carrier. The requirement is that each man operates his own backpack. Sounds surprising, but it's not usually the case because it is on the back.
So this one can, for example, be unclipped on one side and brought to the front. Or the same at the bottom: then the backpack comes over the head to the man. The soldier then grabs what he needs - ammunition or a Snickers bar - and returns the backpack, securing it at the back of the armor.
After the laid backpack looks somewhat flat: that's how the professionally photographed Modular Backpack comes with the LHT Infokit. Here with mounted straps. And side Lasercut MOLLE for attaching pouches.
Lasercut is popular at Lindnerhof. And it's evident that the production method prefers laser-cut gear over conventionally sewn gear, even though the customer base is still hesitant.
2018 will be the year of Chest Rigs at LHT. Above is the non-modular version. Four double magazine pouches, two large pockets on each side that can hold a 200-round MG ammunition box. In the center, there is a Lindnerhof quick-release. Extremely versatile with the flaps. This is basically all you need when going on a lightweight and agile mission.
For people who enjoy playing with pocket Lego, Lindnerhof Taktik also works with a modular approach. Here, everything on the Laser Cut Chest Rig can be customized as desired by the user. MOLLE makes it possible, and at the same time, these rigs are both Split Front: with a zip at the top and an LHT quick-release at the bottom. In the image, you can also see the lightweight strap system.
With the straps, everything is possible. The lightweight version when it's enough, a well-padded version if desired. In the end, the user can do without both if he wants to go well-armored on a customer visit: the rigs can be attached to his plate carrier with connectors. Here are the sewn MOLLE variations in the image, with internal map pockets and split with a zipper at the top, not "Split Front" at the bottom. (The former is much more comfortable to wear.)
First aid is what the first responder brings. For this, there is this waist pouch, similar to what German tourists wear. Only here, there is a scissors readily available on the outside, and inside there are multiple compartments and Velcro for the user to configure.
The boss on the ground. But only to show the new shooting pillow in its perfect application. Police, military, and hunters like this, it's lightweight, can be molded, supports the weapon in the stance, can be attached to the weapon, to the shooter's sleeve... A pillow full of possibilities.
Also presented at the Lindnerhof media days: the collaboration with the company Edelried. What else could come out than climbing equipment. The Tactical Harness consists of a Modular Belt, which can be worn normally on pants or upgraded to a War Belt, with leg loops. But that's another story...
